Sweat drips steadily into your eyes and down your back, obscuring your vision and dampening your shirt.  But not your spirit.  You’re covered in mud and unidentifiable grime, and you’re tired.  But still, you push on.  Your last encounter with that hideous walker was too close for comfort.  You were nearly bitten.  The thought that the virus was almost coursing through your veins sends an involuntary shiver down your spine.  The last thing you want is to become one of them.

This isn’t the world you grew up in, the cozy world you’ve known all your life.  This is the land of the living dead.  The zombie virus has taken its toll on millions, disrupting any sense of order society may once have known.  Governments have crumbled in the face of rampant infection.  Families have suffered.  People, so many people, have been lost.

In this world, this sleepwalker’s feeding ground, Chaos is king.

And yet, there is hope.

A single, solitary hope.  The Omega Sanctuary, wherein an antidote is being formulated.  Thank God for that!  But while it is being developed, you still have to survive.  So, you’re out here, tooth and claw with the rest of humanity…what’s left of it.  And you’re dirty and you’re sweating.  You’re tired and you’re hungry.  And you’re praying.  And fighting.  Most of all you’re fighting.

Because this isn’t a TV show.  This isn’t some video game.  This is the real deal.

THE MUD RUN

Welcome to Zombie Insanity

Get ready for adventure as the post-apocalyptic world of the walking dead is brought to life in this 5K obstacle course!  Travel from one make-shift village to the next, through mud, trees and various structures.  As you go, be on the lookout for clues, collect zombie DNA flags and antidote flags. And whatever you do, don’t let any zombies get your flags (you’ll have two of them).  If they do, that’s the end of your “life” in this game!

The object is to be the first person or team to cross the finish line with the antidote (and without losing your flags).  And thus, become the savior of humanity!

SURVIVAL TIPS

Do not be alarmed at his grotesque appearance when you first encounter a zombie!  Stay focused.

You’ve got to get their flags before they get yours!

Zombies much prefer to attack unhealthy, out of shape targets, as they are easier to catch, offer more meat and can’t put up a good fight.  Don’t let yourself become zombie dinner! Get in shape!

Once you’ve killed a zombie (gotten his flags) quietly hold your position without making a sound.  You want to ensure there are no other zombies lying in wait.  Make sure you get any before you move on!

Before or during the race, form alliances with other humans.  Help each other to get through to the end.

Don’t try to go it alone!

Try to stick to hunting zombies during daylight hours.  Not only will it be easier to see them, and thus

fight them, but also you’ll feel more alert.

REQUIREMENTS

Whether you choose to walk, jog or run your way through the course, you may participate!  Any level of skill is acceptable!

The event is for participants ages 12 and up.  Please bring ID.

Minors must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian to sign waiver on site.
